Youtube
Personally, I like some of the covers people on youtube do more than the original song. It is hard to find a place to download those songs unless the artist posts a download link on iTunes. But there are ways to get these songs.
All you have to do is (assuming you are using a Mac):
Step #1
- open any browser
- go to http://www.iskysoft.com/free-mac-video-downloader.html
- download the free version
- run the installer
- open the app
- choose 'free trial'
- minimize
Step #2
- open Safari (yes, Safari)
- go to www.youtube.com
- find the video you want to download
- if you installed the app right, when you roll over the video, you should see a download button at the top left of the video
- click it
- choose the resolution you want (I always choose the highest)
- you should hear a ping and a pop up at the bottom right of the screen that says that your download has started
- minimize
Step #3
- reopen the minimized video downloader app
- click on the download tab
- you should see a video being downloaded
- once the download finishes, check the library tab
- the video should be there
- minimize or close
Step #4
- open finder
- open your user folder
- open 'Movies'
- open 'iSkysoft iTube Studio Videos'
- you should see the video you downloaded there
Step #5
- open a flv to mp3 conversion app (see mp3 converters)
- depending on the converter, there are multiple steps you can do here, so I'll just say change the flv file to mp3
- drag mp3 into iTunes or double click the file
- listen and enjoy!
